Intl. community must defy US unilateralism

TEHRAN, Jun. 26 (MNA) – A diplomat at Iranian foreign ministry, Morteza Sarmadi, called on the international community to stand against US unilateral policies, rejecting the possibility of JCPOA coexistence with anti-Iran sanctions.

Rouhani’s special envoy and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs at Iran's Foreign Ministry, Morteza Sarmadi, made the remarks in a meeting with Bolivian President Evo Morales on Monday.

The Iranian diplomat handed over President Rouhani’s letter on US unlawful withdrawal from the JCPOA to President Morales, thanking his “courageous positions” against US pullout from the Iran nuclear deal.

Sarmadi described the violation of multilateral and international agreements a “dangerous” move and a threat to global peace and security, deeming it imperative for world countries to take a decisive measure to foil such a destructive policy.

The Bolivian president, for his part, stressed his country’s common views and positions with the Islamic Republic, and praised Iran’s resistance against US hegemony.

President Morales further voiced Bolivia’s support to Iran in various political and international issues, stressing the need for the development of ties among countries fighting hegemony.
